foyer house

A former cluster of 5 offices in the center of Athens divided by a wide corridor was bought by a  family in order to turn it into a residential space. The two sides of the property must always stay divided by this long space due to legal restrictions. The  “default”  becomes a virtue and the corridor is seen as an extended foyer of the  two parts, one overlooking the Acropolis and the other Saint Irini square. The two apartments can function completely detached or unite through the permeable facades of the corridor made of furniture walls. This permeability allows views through both apartments
