The Center of Studies of Jewish Heritage and Museum in Kastoria is located in the upper old town, in the heart of the old “schools’ quarter”, a neighborhood with various Greek schools from the 18th century.
The museum will be hosted in a traditional house / landmark of the area and will consist of two parts: firstly, the part of the restored building that will accommodate the exhibition, and secondly, a modern, new-built part where meetings, seminars, film screenings, and educational programs will take place.
The museum wishes to stand as a new symbol for civil education and intercultural communication, as well as create a new example for future international projects.
The glass facade of the new museum building is overlooking the Jewish quarter of Kastoria, establishing a visual connection between the two.
